Oh Wednesday

So today #humpday has gone something like this…
Left the house ridiculously early to realise that I have forgotten anything for breakfast and infact lunch.

Got stuck in a hideous amount of traffic enroute to collecting the kids from their grandparents house, ask them to make sure that they are totally ready for my arrival.
After collecting them they assure me that they do in fact have everything they need, although funnily enough a mere 2 seconds down the road Ads decides to announce that he has left his lunch behind (def takes after me I feel!)this calls for a quick 3 point turn and a few muttered swear words as we turn back to collect said lunch.

As I drop them off at school, Ads decides that he is too grown up to give me a kiss goodbye because he’s seen his friends coming down the road and clearly I am soooooo embarrasing thanks son!

Got parked with a few minutes to spare and head to work, the morning walk is interrupted by the teenage delight phoning to say that her brace was broken and what should she do?! Aargh! More muttered swear words and several phone calls later and we have an emergency dentist appointment which fortunately resolved this problem~I would however of been even happier if he could of solved the teenage attitude problem but I guess I simply can’t have it all!

This evening thankfully has been much better, I successfully dyed my hair (No more greys for me!), had a yummy dinner cooked for me and had cuddles with Pam too.

Happy #humpday everyone.❤x

#ACEforschoolchallenge

Just like that the summer holidays seem to of faded like a distant memory.

One thing that is very fresh though is the back to school chores and ever continual battle of keeping the uniforms smart and clean.

With a football mad boy in the house, I can almost guarantee stains appearing on shirts, trousers and pe kit on an almost daily basis!

We have been trying out Ace stain remover, and I am genuinely pleased with the results.

I love the two different ways to tackle the stains 1. A pretreatment spray which is used before washing and 2. an inwash formula that you use directly into the washing machine. Ace is formulated for colours so it keeps clothes clean and bright no matter what they have had thrown at them or Indeed down them during the day!

I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that you can also use Ace for day to day cleaning too.

I even tried it in the bathroom and was thrilled with the result, which was long lasting clean and freshness.

I love the fresh smell of Ace and the fabulous cleaning power at removing stains. It’s versatility for use around the home too makes it an all round win for me here in this crazy household.❤X

This is an entry for britmums #ACEforschoolchallenge sponsored by ACE.

Quiet

I feel like I haven’t written for ages, that’s not because I haven’t got anything to say, infact I quite often have too much to say~maybe silence is golden sometimes hehe!

Anyway here I am and I can’t believe we are almost a whole week into October, another year that is simply flying by.

As ever the days and weeks have been busy and full on, not that I would want it another way.

We have been making the most of the weather whilst it’s still reasonable and as the evenings start to get dark so early now we have been trying to squeeze in some seaside walks before it becomes completely dark by 4pm!

That said evenings in front of the fire are beckoning and that’s always lovely too, although if truth be told once the fire is on you can guarantee I won’t be awake for long!

In other news I have become a fully fledged grown up and purchased a slow cooker, yes at the age of 41yrs not only have I brought one but I have managed to cook dinner in it and actually left the house whilst it was on (those of you who know me well will understand!)

Happy Friday everyone.❤x

Beautiful ride

I love words, writing, pictures, quotes.
They are so powerful and radiate such meaning.

I love to see things when I’m out and about, this quote I particularly love, I love what it says and what it means but I also love that it was painted on a seaside shop window.

I didn’t see it or indeed take the picture, my daughter did, she took the picture and sent it to me because she knew I would like it.

Sometimes these things have a habit of popping up and jumping out at you, maybe a little reminder of how beautiful life is, maybe we should all slow down and appreciate the things around us~the people we have in our lives and the memories they share with us and help us to create big and small.

So yes life is a beautiful ride~smile when you can, laugh everyday, love with all of your heart and hang on tight!❤x

Mini adventure

Wow what a weekend, it’s gone by in an absolute flash. Mind you it’s been a busy one. On Saturday we went on a ‘mini’ road trip and when I say ‘mini’ I mean it quite literally. This is because my wonderful other half felt the need to purchase a classic Mini because having 4 vehicles isn’t enough hee hee.

So we set off on a 3 hour round trip to collect it.

Today has been just as hectic as I decided to tackle Ads bedroom, small it may be but believe me it had plenty of stuff in it. At one stage I could feel myself losing the will as every available floor space upstairs soon became covered with boxes, bin liners and charity bags.

We found more clothes under the bed than in the wardrobe and had a few sentimental moments with old pictures and toys.

Finally it was complete and I am now left with several bin bags that won’t fit in the bin, several bags for the charity shop, oh and of course several loads of washing~thanks son!

This afternoon we escaped the tidying up and headed for the seafront with Mum and Dad. It was lovely and sunny so we stopped for ice creams and of course coffee. Although I could of sat and gazed out at the sea all afternoon, all too soon it was time to go home via the shop as I still haven’t been food shopping oops!

After dinner and the usual Sunday night rituals and obliqitaory last minute homework~this boy is so unorganised who could he possibly take after?! I am now relaxing with a cheeky cider and having a think, just a little one about Christmas!

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you have had a fabulous weekend.❤x

Wednesday night woes

Today’s #humpday is sponsored by the pain of gel polish removal and of course the teenage delight! Now as we are all aware the children had 6 weeks off for the summer. Those 6 weeks gave plenty of time to have nails painted beautifully etc. However the beautiful nail polish isn’t allowed in school, this is a fact well known by all. However of course said nail polish was still not removed this morning in time for school because it had been left to the last minute and she couldn’t get it off in time~marvellous! Fortunately for her, my wonderful better half came to her rescue and assured the school that it would be off tonight ready for school tomorrow.

Cue a trip to purchase more remover and more time then spent removing it, obviously I was no help at all and just hurt her nails when I was assisting her but hey ho!

Finally her fingers are polish free and she starts getting ready for her bath, the bath that clearly she felt would regulate it’s own depth and obviously didn’t need any attention from her so she was free to sashay around her untidy bedroom singing and looking at herself in the mirror of course!

Meanwhile because I have nothing better to do with my evening I go into the bathroom and turn the taps off literally before the bath overflows and she announces that she was just coming to do that~seriously?!

All that’s left now is to wait until her ‘quick’ hour long bath is finally over, after which she will no doubt waltz out leaving the floor flooded and the towels, yes towels (one wouldn’t possibly be sufficient!)soaking wet.
By which time I will probably be too tired to have a bath myself and will resort a super quick shower before falling into bed.
All that and she’s only been home just over 24hrs! Happy#humpday
❤x

Words that should be spoken

Some days are made for reflection, not the looking in the mirror kind of reflection, the thoughtful kind. Either looking backwards or forwards thinking about where life’s journey is taking you, where you are going and indeed where you have been.

That’s why I love the power of words so much particularly the written word.
Whilst it’s so so true that actions do Indeed speak louder than words as with everything in life there is a time and a place for it all.

I love to write even if it’s just about everyday nonsense which makes up parts of my crazy life. I love to write and use words to express things and when I can to share happiness too.

Written words can and do say and mean so much and what’s more you can revisit them and just like a photograph or a song they can change your mood in an instant.

We all use so much modern technology today but something that I wish for especially as my children grow up in this fast moving, ever changing world is that the power of words expressed vocally or written is never lost.

Happy Friday everyone.❤x

Busy busy

Somehow its thursday already and I’ve lost count of what number day it is of the holidays but I do know there is just less than 2 weeks to go until it’s back to school and work.

I’ve had my birthday which was a nice day with family and loved ones followed by a catch up with my fabulous friends. I have been a very lucky girl.

The biggest two have gone off with their dad for the last 2 week’s and despite them only being gone less than 2 days I am missing them already.

Today it’s me and the smallest people we have made cakes, been to the park and headed over to Pets at home where we had lots of fun handling a baby rabbit and a baby guinea pig. The children were then able to feed the animals and were given a poster, stickers and an information booklet all about animals and wildlife~what a fab afternoon. ❤x

Paris 2018

It’s hard to believe that this time last week we were in the beautiful city of Paris.

I don’t think I have enough words to express just what an amazing weekend it was, I will however try!

We started our journey at 5.20am (big shout out to Mum and Dad for being our taxi driver), and were soon enroute to London to catch the Eurostar.

Before we knew it we were off, I have never travelled on the Eurostar before it was great and we would definitely do so again.

We arrived in Paris at lunchtime and found our way to our hotel. After dropping our luggage off we headed out in search of the Eiffel tower. Fortunately my wonderful other half has a much better sense of direction than me and it wasn’t long before we caught our first glimpse of it, and found ourselves heading towards it.

I simply couldn’t believe how breathtakingly amazing it was and indeed how high it was! As we stood gazing at it my first thoughts were how on earth am I going to manage going up there tomorrow?!

We continued to wander and happened upon a fantastic food market which sold just about every variety of food you can think of. It all smelt amazing. Next we walked over the bridge and looked down over part of the river Seine.

Further across the road we saw beautiful fountains and watched people dancing and rollerblading performing fantastic moves.

We headed back and found a lovely restaurant for dinner before returning back pretty exhausted to the hotel.

On Saturday morning I was slightly nervous aswell as excited for our visit to the Eiffel tower. Fortunately for our legs we had booked elevator tickets! The views just got more and more amazing the higher we went and as we boarded the elevator to take us to the highest point my fear was clearly quite evident as the doors closed a kind American gentleman turned to me and said ‘just imagine everyone is naked, I replied I’m not sure what’s worse hee hee’ the thought of a packed lift of naked strangers was enough to take my mind off of the inevitable thank goodness!

I needn’t of worried it was amazing at the top the clouds looked so so close in comparison to everything else around us,it was a beautifully clear day and we could literally see for miles.

We had pink champagne and big smiles before making our way back down this time using both the elevator and stairs.

By now it was time for lunch and we did of course head to the food market. We then proceeded to walk for what felt like miles in search of an open patisserie so I could get a strawberry tart. Well let me tell you it was so worth the walk,to say it was delicious would be an understatement.

After being out for a long old time we walked back to the hotel, my poor feet where starting to protest so we had a quick rest before going out to see Paris at night.

The atmosphere was fantastic, with lots of people around enjoying the warm evening and of course the Eiffel tower lit up in all its glory. The lights gradually came on and then started twinkling as the sun had set and darkness was surrounding us.

We had a wonderful evening and it was gone midnight when we got back. All too soon it was Sunday morning and time to get ourselves back to England were we arrived home with lots more memories and photographs captured in our hearts and minds.

So there you have it Paris 2018 a weekend I will never forget. However that’s not quite the end of that adventure, keep your eyes peeled for the next chapter still to come.❤x

What is love?

When I was young, love seemed like a fairy tale.

Girl meets boy and they have their very own happy ever after.

As I grew up I began to realise that love doesn’t quite work like that. Love isn’t always hearts and flowers.

Sometimes it’s wiping away tears and giving apologies, because love can be stupid and also foolish too it’s not perfect but when two people love each other they take the good with the bad.

Sometimes it’s staying up all night finding the solution and never letting go.

It’s about believing in each other no matter what and seeing clearly when one of you can’t.

It’s hugs in the rain and kissing away the pain.

Love may be many things and it shows itself in lots of ways. Above all it’s wonderful and caring, kind, patient and always there.
