Smiles and miles

It’s been a busy day today, busy but lovely. I had my niece and nephew to stay last night and all of them were up early this morning. This gave me a chance to get the school uniform washed and hung out to dry before we left the house, at least it would of done if my youngest had put his uniform in the wash in the first place!

We left home in good time to visit family in Surrey. Having stopped to do some shopping on the way. As much as I love shopping I must confess that I prefer to do it without two grumpy kids in tow. Still we went to the shops we wanted to visit in record time and were soon on our way again. Next a quick stop to grab some lunch before arriving at my parents house to see them and my Nan. It was great to catch up with them all, we gave my Mum her birthday present early (as they’ll be away on the actual day). I had to confess to her that the card I had carefully chosen for her~was in fact a Mother’s Day card and I hadn’t realised until I opened it to write in it~oops trust me.

Finally we made our way to my sisters house who very kindly cut all of our hair for us~thanks Sis love you. The kids took her dog for a walk around the block this was handy and gave us a chance for a quick gossip/catch up without any little ears listening in. Before we left we saw my niece and her boyfriend too which was great also. It’s so nice to see everyone and although they are only an hour or so away sometimes it feels like they are all so far away~there’s never enough time but I was pleased we had seen them all.

On the way home I stopped to get a few bits for tea~the kids volunteered to go in for me and when they came out my son had used his own money to buy us all some chocolate~bless him.

Bedtime tonight was amusing to say the least as my son (11yrs old) decided to give us an update on what he’s been learning at school regarding sex education, my daughter was embarrassed and quite clearly wanted the ground to open up and swallow her~fortunately I’m not phased by these things at all and we had talked about it openly with a few giggles too.

On that note I’ve got my feet up waiting for my boys uniform to wash now. I’m looking forward to bedtime I’m shattered as ever. Despite the lack of sunshine tomorrow is looking like it’s going to be a promising day too. I hope you’ve all had a lovely day too.❤️x
