Weekend

We made it ~162 miles with 4 kids and a car full of luggage!

We had a good journey and even drove through some snow which was pretty cool sadly it soon turned to rain, but it provided some excitement to a long journey.

After a good nights sleep we have had fun swimming~that’s not two words I usually use in the same sentence but we brought an inflatable ball and played with that altogether. I then made the silly mistake of walking into the men’s toilet instead of the ladies thankfully for me and any men no one was in there!

We are looking forward to more fun and family time whilst we are here.❤️x

School~Days

Throwback to when my little people where very little.

Life often gives us reason for reflection and here’s today’s one.

On my walk to work this morning I found myself noticing some of the Mums standing with buggies and little ones by the School gates, it was raining and all of a sudden it took me right back to when my two were that small.

The ironic thing is some days when I would stand waiting for them in the pouring rain, the School runs could seem never ending.

However it was also great to be with my friends and have a natter and a gossip.

These days I don’t tend to do the school run, they walk or if I’m driving I’ll drop them nearby to school.

As they grow older, things seem easier in some respects~being able to nip to the shops for forgotten items without having to load them in and out of the car is a definite bonus!

As ever time whizzes by so so quickly and I sometimes wish I could go back to those days and really savour the moments, appreciate the little things and not stress about things that I now know didn’t need to be stressed about!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn’t it, and as the saying goes ‘time stands still for no man’.

I’ve been busy packing for our Easter weekend away and I simply cannot wait, I’m looking forward to a change of scenery, lots of chocolate and most importantly some time together, time I will cherish making more memories with my favourite people.❤️x

Sunny Monday

I am loving seeing the sunshine today. It makes everything seem better and gives you a bit more get up and go.

So much so that I went into Tesco and brought myself some new plants for the garden and some new cleaning bits. Somehow a creme egg managed to sneak into my basket too~cheeky little thing, mind you that was soon eaten and the evidence destroyed hee hee.

Having come home and planted the plants and begun spring cleaning the house it suddenly dawned on me that I had actually gone shopping for just two things and those two things were the things I came out without purchasing, you could say they are quite urgently needed as it was shampoo and conditioner, and as anyone living with a teenage girl will know how important these things are! I will however clarify that we do have such items or I myself would be panicking too! It’s just that we are running low and apparently last time I brought the wrong ones of course, silly me!

Another thing to bring some brightness into my day is these beautiful flowers~they definitely put a smile on my face.

All in all it’s not been a bad Monday, let’s hope that’s set the tone for the rest of this week. May the sun continue to shine.❤️x

For you…

Crazy little thing called love ❤️

Some days it’s laughter and giggles

Some days it’s tears and shouts

But every single day no matter what it’s the love that counts.

Maybe they can’t see it and maybe they wonder why I get frustrated.

They think I go on and on and that my advice is so outdated!

I often say this and I know it to be true, that one day we will look back at these days and laugh about the trantrums, smile about the pain.

We will want to be reminded of these days once again.

For being a parent is hard at times it has to be said, sometimes you don’t even want to get out of bed, to face the moaning and the stress of who ate the last cereal or who made all of the mess!

Over the years we know there will be tears and giggles aplenty.

Good times, bad times…

Over the years we know there will be tears and giggles aplenty.

Good times, bad times we will face them all and deal with them gently.

Take each day as it comes and forgive easily.

Never forgetting that although I may drive you as crazy as you drive me, I shed tears that you do not see, because I love you more than you’ll ever know and I just love to watch you grow.

When your older you will know that despite all the times you thought I was wrong, there was method in my madness, for what I want for you is health, love and happiness.

So this is for you, although I may be a pain in the bum, I love you so very much. Lots of love always

Spring is in the air

It’s certainly been a busy Thursday afternoon~the sun has been shining I’ve done some gardening~yes you read that right~I put my gardening gloves on and tackled the weeds out in the front garden, the daffodils are beginning to spring up and the lavender which I love because my lovely Nan brought it for me is also doing well.

The weeding was going so well I decided to get the lawn mower out, this was a mission in itself and I was particularly thrilled to realise that it needed some petrol. I swiftly gave up on that and used the strimmer to give it a quick trim~you could probably argue that it looks worse but it’ll do until tomorrow!

Inspired by my sudden burst of energy I then hoovered the car out and made chilli for dinner.

That’s when things started to go downhill~the chilli I thought wasn’t too hot actually was slightly hotter than intended~cue joy at the dinner table as the kids didn’t like it.

Although I enjoyed it they decided to make themselves honey on toast and hot cross buns for tea!

That was enough drama for one night~although it’s clear that in this house any situation can be dramatic, for example when your teenage daughter is going to have a bath it is essential that the whole street must hear the dilemma of not having enough shampoo and conditioner to meet her needs~whatever next?!

On a much happier note we are going away for Easter and I cannot wait~ the 2 of us plus the 4 kiddiwinks, lots of chocolate and possibly even some snow=happy days and memories to be made.

I am that girl

You know your a lucky girl when you have a boyfriend who stays awake until he knows your back safe from a night out, who would do anything for you and your family, who is always there through the good and bad. Wiping the tears away and making you smile again.

He has a smile that alone can brighten even the dullest day.

Soppy as it may sound I don’t care, I’ll happily shout it from the roof tops, I am that girl who has a boyfriend who does all that and more. I’m not sure how I got to be so lucky but one thing I am sure of is that this crazy little thing called love may well be a Crazy journey but as long as we are travelling it together I just know everything will be just fine.❤️x

Sometimes…

Sometimes you just need to have a giggle with your friends, take a road trip and stay out until the early hours of the morning singing and dancing and sometimes you just need to curl up on the sofa with a blanket and the kids to watch Paddington 2 and maybe have a cheeky snooze!

Luckily for me this sums up my weekend quite nicely.

We left early on Saturday morning for a birthday jolly to Bournemouth for our fab friends 40th birthday.

It was a journey which involved both bus and train and the inevitable~lots of giggles before we had even left the station!

It started to snow en~route which although was forecast we didn’t think would actually materialise.

That added to the fun and by the time we had left our luggage for safe keeping at the hotel it was snowing quite steadily.

First stop was for coffee, lunch and cake all of which was very nice.

We then had a wander and did some shopping before checking in to the hotel and having a brief stop before dinner. I used this time to dye my hair and was so pleased that I had chosen the right colour otherwise things could of gone horribly wrong!

After dinner it was time to get ready, which involved the usual~outfit trying on, singing, dancing and alcohol.

Well no alcohol for me as my body decided that it would need anti~biotics at the most inconvenient time!

We eventually left the hotel after 11pm and I’m fairly sure the other residents where glad of the peace and quiet after various renditions of some of our favourite songs which may or may not of been in tune!!

It was still snowing and very, very cold so I reluctantly swopped my heels for flat boots and even wore my coat and gloves, I must be getting sensible in my old age.

Fortunately after walking, dancing and indeed eating chips and onion rings we soon warmed up.

All too soon we were back in our pjs drinking coffee and eating yet again ~crisps this time at 2am eek!

We woke up to find the snow had settled slightly and the view was lovely. After getting ready and going for breakfast we began our journey home, again by bus and train.

I arrived home to have a coffee with Mum and Dad who had been here looking after the kids.

We then watched Paddington 2 and headed off for a drive to watch the snow falling.

What a wonderful weekend.❤️x

#Oreocookiequest

Here in the crazy household we have been taking part in the #oreocookiequest.

My two absolutely love Oreos,so I decided to have a treasure hunt so they could have fun, solve the clues and then enjoy eating the yummy Oreos.

Whilst the children waited upstairs I wrote and hid some clues for them to find.

Once this was done they quickly set about trying to find the treasure.

I love to get together and do family activities, Oreo are giving away some fabulous prizes on their promotional packs, pick up a packet today for your chance to win some great prizes which include a trip to California and the Googleplex !

What are you waiting for~grab some Oreos, have them as a little snack and have fun.❤️x

Late Night

Last night I couldn’t sleep~my night went something like this~

*Wrote my shopping list and planned all next weeks meals.

*Looked at holidays.

*Checked the bank approximately 3 times in case some extra money magically appeared in between such times (sadly it didn’t!)

*Sold a wardrobe on eBay.

All whilst pretending that the kids school uniform didn’t need ironing and basically hoping that any wrinkles would disappear by morning.

Finally at 12.15am I decided I really should at least get into bed, I decided to catch up on ‘call the midwife’, fell asleep part way through and woke up feeling like I was in a sauna because I forgot to turn the heating down.

Needless to say I’m tired and feeling slightly grumpy. Despite it being my day off I’ve got a list as long as my arm to make my way through.

Fortunately my lovely Mum sent us home with some cakes yesterday, well I say us~technically they were meant to be for the kids lunch boxes but I’ve decided to ‘liberate’a few and shall have them with my countless cups of coffee later.

Happy Monday everyone.❤️x
