Busy

It’s been another busy week in the crazy household. Work,School runs, after school clubs, migraines, eye rolling and arguments with the teenagers~all pretty standard stuff really, particularly the eye~rolling because lets face it what do I know?! I am just Mum after all!

However In between those events we managed a date night at our local seaside carvery, some nice but cold walks along the beach and a very late night watching ‘4 weddings and a funeral’whilst drinking wine and playing an intellectual word game similar to scrabble, note the sarcasm when I say intellectual think more adult humour! Hee hee.

Once again its Sunday night, the weekend has disappeared far too quickly and as ever I should by now be fast asleep. Here’s hoping you had a good week and here’s to a fabulous week ahead.❤x

Quiet

I feel like I haven’t written for ages, that’s not because I haven’t got anything to say, infact I quite often have too much to say~maybe silence is golden sometimes hehe!

Anyway here I am and I can’t believe we are almost a whole week into October, another year that is simply flying by.

As ever the days and weeks have been busy and full on, not that I would want it another way.

We have been making the most of the weather whilst it’s still reasonable and as the evenings start to get dark so early now we have been trying to squeeze in some seaside walks before it becomes completely dark by 4pm!

That said evenings in front of the fire are beckoning and that’s always lovely too, although if truth be told once the fire is on you can guarantee I won’t be awake for long!

In other news I have become a fully fledged grown up and purchased a slow cooker, yes at the age of 41yrs not only have I brought one but I have managed to cook dinner in it and actually left the house whilst it was on (those of you who know me well will understand!)

Happy Friday everyone.❤x

Beautiful ride

I love words, writing, pictures, quotes.
They are so powerful and radiate such meaning.

I love to see things when I’m out and about, this quote I particularly love, I love what it says and what it means but I also love that it was painted on a seaside shop window.

I didn’t see it or indeed take the picture, my daughter did, she took the picture and sent it to me because she knew I would like it.

Sometimes these things have a habit of popping up and jumping out at you, maybe a little reminder of how beautiful life is, maybe we should all slow down and appreciate the things around us~the people we have in our lives and the memories they share with us and help us to create big and small.

So yes life is a beautiful ride~smile when you can, laugh everyday, love with all of your heart and hang on tight!❤x

Paris 2018

It’s hard to believe that this time last week we were in the beautiful city of Paris.

I don’t think I have enough words to express just what an amazing weekend it was, I will however try!

We started our journey at 5.20am (big shout out to Mum and Dad for being our taxi driver), and were soon enroute to London to catch the Eurostar.

Before we knew it we were off, I have never travelled on the Eurostar before it was great and we would definitely do so again.

We arrived in Paris at lunchtime and found our way to our hotel. After dropping our luggage off we headed out in search of the Eiffel tower. Fortunately my wonderful other half has a much better sense of direction than me and it wasn’t long before we caught our first glimpse of it, and found ourselves heading towards it.

I simply couldn’t believe how breathtakingly amazing it was and indeed how high it was! As we stood gazing at it my first thoughts were how on earth am I going to manage going up there tomorrow?!

We continued to wander and happened upon a fantastic food market which sold just about every variety of food you can think of. It all smelt amazing. Next we walked over the bridge and looked down over part of the river Seine.

Further across the road we saw beautiful fountains and watched people dancing and rollerblading performing fantastic moves.

We headed back and found a lovely restaurant for dinner before returning back pretty exhausted to the hotel.

On Saturday morning I was slightly nervous aswell as excited for our visit to the Eiffel tower. Fortunately for our legs we had booked elevator tickets! The views just got more and more amazing the higher we went and as we boarded the elevator to take us to the highest point my fear was clearly quite evident as the doors closed a kind American gentleman turned to me and said ‘just imagine everyone is naked, I replied I’m not sure what’s worse hee hee’ the thought of a packed lift of naked strangers was enough to take my mind off of the inevitable thank goodness!

I needn’t of worried it was amazing at the top the clouds looked so so close in comparison to everything else around us,it was a beautifully clear day and we could literally see for miles.

We had pink champagne and big smiles before making our way back down this time using both the elevator and stairs.

By now it was time for lunch and we did of course head to the food market. We then proceeded to walk for what felt like miles in search of an open patisserie so I could get a strawberry tart. Well let me tell you it was so worth the walk,to say it was delicious would be an understatement.

After being out for a long old time we walked back to the hotel, my poor feet where starting to protest so we had a quick rest before going out to see Paris at night.

The atmosphere was fantastic, with lots of people around enjoying the warm evening and of course the Eiffel tower lit up in all its glory. The lights gradually came on and then started twinkling as the sun had set and darkness was surrounding us.

We had a wonderful evening and it was gone midnight when we got back. All too soon it was Sunday morning and time to get ourselves back to England were we arrived home with lots more memories and photographs captured in our hearts and minds.

So there you have it Paris 2018 a weekend I will never forget. However that’s not quite the end of that adventure, keep your eyes peeled for the next chapter still to come.❤x

Paddling pool days

Clearly yesterday wasn’t stressful enough so today this happened!

Midway through putting up the tent in not enough space and then trying to get the other paddling pool inside it I nearly lost the plot, started to wonder why on earth I was doing this and then thought back to my own childhood and the answer was clear.

I remember days in the garden with water and dens. I remember my Mum bringing us out a picnic tea and Dad stopping what he was doing to get out `the magic carpet’ for us so we could go on wonderful adventures.
I remember all of those things and how much fun we had and I want my children to have the same memories too.

Memories really do last a lifetime.
Thank you to my lovely parents to giving them to us, in turn I hope I am passing them on to my crazy bunch to enjoy today and to look back on when they are older.

So it begins

So today #humpday has gone something like this….

Started off with all good intentions of getting lots done. First things first we got the food shopping which seemed to take forever and resulted in buying what felt like a whole freezer full of ice creams and nothing particularly useful thereafter!

Once home it then seemed like a good idea to try and find the paddling pool (of which we have multiple of!)after what seemed like an eternity moving boxes and literally praying that I wouldn’t see any mice or spiders in the garage, it turned out the damn thing was outside in a storage box all the time.

Obviously setting it up was never going to be an easy experience and after discovering that two vital plugs where missing I decided that I would mend it myself with some bottle tops and masking tape~blue peter eat your heart out! To be fair it was all going reasonably well until the camping chair I was sitting on broke and my backside went right through the material leaving me stuck in the chair on the hard ground, not my finest moment but hey ho you have to laugh.

By this point I was very hot and bothered but we were going out for a walk along the seafront which is always good. That said I somehow managed to go the wrong way (don’t even ask!) and arrived late as usual with no handbag or purse. I did however remember the doughnuts and some cold coffee which is just fab in this weather. The coffee decided to make a bid for freedom and leaked all into my bag and onto to the doughnuts too~marvellous.

Just when I felt that I was actually done for the day, it becomes apparent that I do in fact need two new tyres. Needless to say I am less than thrilled about that unplanned purchase even more so as it’s only day one of the kids being off for the summer.

I am now currently waiting patiently for my hot water bottle to freeze in an attempt to get cool tonight and maybe even get some sleep in my bed which could also be mistaken for a sauna!

Happy #humpday. ❤x

Fun

Another beautiful summer’s eve by the sea.

A lovely stroll along the seafront, stopping at the park and getting dizzy on the roundabout and having a turn on the zip wire well why not?!

As I watched my boy laughing and smiling at such simple things I stopped and thought when did life become so serious? Why can’t we all enjoy the little things, after all those little things create big memories and even bigger smiles.❤x

Day off?!

Today is my day off if there really is such a thing. I started early with the sole intention of going into one shop to take something back, having parked just outside town I was making my way quite happily when I realised I had left the one bag I needed in the car. So I headed back to the car to collect it.

Next I arrive at the shop to be informed it can’t be returned in store~marvellous!

Having congratulated myself on parking just outside out of town which only cost me 50p I decided that a trip to Costa could of course be justified, I’m yet to justify nipping into Greggs too but If you give me time I’m sure I’ll find a reason why an apple Danish for breakfast was necessary!

By the time I got home there was washing to sort and food shopping to do.

I’ve been put on an almost total coffee ban by my loved ones and have survived the day on only two cups which I feel is pretty impressive.

That said it’s been a nice sunny day and although I am on a mission to try and lose my tan lines and get some colour on my legs I’ve spent the day in jeans so whilst the rest of my body continues to tan, my legs are super white and quite frankly I look like some kind of zebra with odd stripes hee hee.

Still it’s only Monday so with a bit of luck if the weather continues to be nice I might just get them to look slightly off white before I have to wear a dress in a few weeks time.

Hoping you’ve all had a happy Monday.❤x

Oh dear

Is anyone’s car almost an extension of there home or is it just me?

I’ve been searching high and low for a skirt for a couple of days now, having just been to the car for something totally unskirt related, I lifted up the lawnmower (don’t ask!) and there it was in a bag amongst some other bits and bobs. Why I didn’t think to look there In the first place I’ll never know!

That said all this is coming from the one who just found her keys in the fruit bowl and got dressed with a vest top on back to front!

Nothing surprises me anymore but hey ho it’s Friday that’s got to be a reason to smile.❤️x

Trips and stumbles

Busy day here again, this afternoon was a trip quite literally to the park.

2 adults and 6 kids~5 of whom were in my care!

The reason I say it was literally a trip is because yours truly did a spectacular trip and launched/stumbled myself around the kids swings narrowly missing a big puddle of mud.

I did however manage not to drop the youngest (3yr old) whom I was helping out of the large swing seat so I count that as a definite bonus.

Right at the last minute I managed to steady myself just before I feared I was going face down into that yucky brown stuff. What I must of looked like to everyone else I dread to think! Still I Styled it out (I think) and had a good giggle too.

Well if you can’t embarrass the kids now and then what’s the point in being a parent~ hee hee.

Happy #humpday to you all.❤️x
