Its Friday hooray, although I am sure you didnt need me to tell you that!
Finally I can say I had some sleep last night which I find is always a bonus.
I wish I could say the sun is shining and its a beautiful day but in reality its cold and far too dark for my liking, but hey you can’t have everything.
In order to get this friday started I must drag myself out of bed and locate some coffee because quite frankly although I am definitely not a morning person with or without it~I simply must have some anyway!
Happy friday everyone.❤x
So today #humpday has gone something like this….
Started off with all good intentions of getting lots done. First things first we got the food shopping which seemed to take forever and resulted in buying what felt like a whole freezer full of ice creams and nothing particularly useful thereafter!
Once home it then seemed like a good idea to try and find the paddling pool (of which we have multiple of!)after what seemed like an eternity moving boxes and literally praying that I wouldn’t see any mice or spiders in the garage, it turned out the damn thing was outside in a storage box all the time.
Obviously setting it up was never going to be an easy experience and after discovering that two vital plugs where missing I decided that I would mend it myself with some bottle tops and masking tape~blue peter eat your heart out! To be fair it was all going reasonably well until the camping chair I was sitting on broke and my backside went right through the material leaving me stuck in the chair on the hard ground, not my finest moment but hey ho you have to laugh.
By this point I was very hot and bothered but we were going out for a walk along the seafront which is always good. That said I somehow managed to go the wrong way (don’t even ask!) and arrived late as usual with no handbag or purse. I did however remember the doughnuts and some cold coffee which is just fab in this weather. The coffee decided to make a bid for freedom and leaked all into my bag and onto to the doughnuts too~marvellous.
Just when I felt that I was actually done for the day, it becomes apparent that I do in fact need two new tyres. Needless to say I am less than thrilled about that unplanned purchase even more so as it’s only day one of the kids being off for the summer.
I am now currently waiting patiently for my hot water bottle to freeze in an attempt to get cool tonight and maybe even get some sleep in my bed which could also be mistaken for a sauna!
Happy #humpday. ❤x
Dear Sleep it would appear you dislike me as much as I dislike you but come on can’t we call a truce or something?
This is getting crazy, the heat clearly isn’t helping but even so can’t you give a girl a break, the occasional reasonable night’s sleep really isn’t much to keep me functioning and even coffee is struggling to help out!
Between lack of shut eye, night terrors and involuntarily falling out of bed I am beginning to start taking this insomnia business personally although quite frankly it’s not me it is you!
I would be quite happy to negotiate with you, and would appreciate your input into this matter.
I look forward to hearing from you in due course.
(A sleep deprived, unorganised and chaotic woman, surviving on coffee, coffee, more coffee and the occasional few hours of sleep!).
Today is my day off if there really is such a thing. I started early with the sole intention of going into one shop to take something back, having parked just outside town I was making my way quite happily when I realised I had left the one bag I needed in the car. So I headed back to the car to collect it.
Next I arrive at the shop to be informed it can’t be returned in store~marvellous!
Having congratulated myself on parking just outside out of town which only cost me 50p I decided that a trip to Costa could of course be justified, I’m yet to justify nipping into Greggs too but If you give me time I’m sure I’ll find a reason why an apple Danish for breakfast was necessary!
By the time I got home there was washing to sort and food shopping to do.
I’ve been put on an almost total coffee ban by my loved ones and have survived the day on only two cups which I feel is pretty impressive.
That said it’s been a nice sunny day and although I am on a mission to try and lose my tan lines and get some colour on my legs I’ve spent the day in jeans so whilst the rest of my body continues to tan, my legs are super white and quite frankly I look like some kind of zebra with odd stripes hee hee.
Still it’s only Monday so with a bit of luck if the weather continues to be nice I might just get them to look slightly off white before I have to wear a dress in a few weeks time.
Hoping you’ve all had a happy Monday.❤x
I feel I’ve been quite quiet lately on the blogging front~it’s unusual for me to be quiet although I do find that often there’s not much of an in between for that~either I’ll talk for England or won’t say more than two words in one go~I’m sure at times the latter is preferable!
It’s been a funny old week that seems to of stretched on forever.
It’s mainly consisted of being super tired and very much lacking in sleep and arguing with my teenager!
Of course there has been some happy moments too but sometimes they get overshadowed.
I know I’m not the first and certainly won’t be the last parent who is sitting down and thinking over and over about arguments or upset with their children. Wondering if it could of been dealt with differently, and indeed at times wondering what (if anything!)they’ve done wrong to find themselves in these situations.
One thing is for sure this parenting lark isn’t for the faint hearted, and if anyone could please tell me that the teenage years get easier it would be much appreciated~lie if you must but just do it hee hee.
On a happier note I’m typing this as I catch up with the one programme guaranteed to make me smile~first dates. I’ve got my feet up, a candle lit and of course a coffee on the table. All is quiet here in the crazy household, I’m hoping for two things~1. Some sleep and 2. A lie in.
Neither one of those things is guaranteed or indeed likely but hey ho a girl can dream (if sleep permits it of course!). ❤️x
It was a breakfast on the run kind of morning here today.
Although let me clarify that clearly there was no actual physical running from me~a bit of power walking maybe or perhaps I was just jet propelled out of the house by the stress of my teenagers attitude which is larger than life this fine sunny morning!
Either way I grabbed an unhealthy choc chip swirl and shoved that in my mouth on my way to work.
I’m telling myself it’ll be ok because I did get up and do my exercises and I then walked the almost two miles to work, so let’s hope thats taken care of those naughty calories!
Have a happy Tuesday everyone.❤️x
There’s nothing like a cheeky little mid~week child free day off.
This is exactly what we had today so we headed to Brighton and had a good wander around the lanes.
Finding a fab coffee bar was one of the highlights of the day of course!
We couldn’t go by without popping in and sampling an Americano and also some delicious banana and peanut cake which tasted much better than it sounds.
We certainly did some steps today and luckily avoided the rain too.
After all that walking we stopped for lunch and had the biggest pizzas~I was well and truly beaten by mine.
All too soon it was time to head home. What a happy #humpday it’s been.❤️x
After an impromptu visit to the drs for yet another urine/kidney infection, the doctor confirmed that I need to up my fluid intake~sadly she didn’t mean drink more coffee though! To add insult to injury my anti~biotics require that I don’t have milk 2hrs before and indeed after each dose. Therefore it’s safe to say that I been counting down the hours, minutes and seconds until coffee time!
On a serious note though if it means a quick recovery then I will gladly take my medication as instructed.
Coffee is obviously an ongoing theme in my life, and as much as I am practically an expert at both making and drinking it, last night I surpassed myself by going through all of the necessary motions only to realise just before taking a sip that I hadn’t even boiled the kettle~I’ll blame the sunshine for that hee hee.
Speaking of sunshine as much as I love the sun and the heat, waking up to such beautiful weather serves as an instant reminder that this diet of mine really does need to start tomorrow in earnest. With some special events coming up surely that must be an incentive~hmm watch this space….
On the whole it’s been a wonderful weekend~spending time in the hot tub, and enjoying getting fresh air walking along the sea~front making the most of the lighter, warmer evenings.❤️x
I’m a little bit late posting this but let’s face it I’m usually late so no surprise there! Anyway last night was a fab night celebrating one of my very good friends birthday. It was one of those nights when you laugh so much you cry, in-fact I drove home with tears running down my face as well as mascara. It was the kind of night where us girls do what we do best~gossip, giggle and talk about anything and everything.
When I got home I was greeted by a lovely sight~my wonderful boyfriend had not only waited up but had made me coffee too. Now let me just point out that the coffee was in fact decaf~well who would of thought it hey?! I’m trying very hard to cut down on caffeine in the evenings after some pretty horrific sleepless nights, so am hoping it may help. Whilst I’m not exactly a fan of that stuff it’s got to be worth a try and lets be honest I couldn’t not drink any coffee in the eves so this has to be a compromise~let’s see.
Before I go I’ll leave the link below to a on older post I wrote about friendship a while ago, I hope it makes you smile too. ❤️x
This week is flying by and suddenly its Saturday. We have been as busy as ever-this weeks antics have included a whistle stop visit to Surrey to see family and have our hair cut too-shout out to my big sister for that!
We have enjoyed going along the seafront where the children’s preferred mode of transportation was a scooter, roller skates and indeed a skateboard. Us adults kept our feet firmly on the ground and enjoyed a catch up aswell as a cheeky coffee and a rather large Eccles cake!
Yesterday was a trip to Brighton on the train, where my son was subjected to the joys of shopping with a teenage girl who insisted on going into every shop we came across, needless to say after he had been in the two shops he needed he was keen to get home.
In other news I’m feeling particularly grown up after receiving my brand new business cards, this was cause for much excitement in the crazy household, to celebrate I decided that I simply had to buy myself a new notebook (not that I need any excuse to do so,I just love them!)as their are lots of exciting things to look out for, in the mean time watch this space.
Having spent most of the afternoon working on ‘Crazy little thing called love’ with the help of my lovely fella (he really does help out a lot with my blog!)its almost time for me to get ready to go out and celebrate my very good friends birthday-I am looking forward to an evening of gossip and giggles.
Before an early start tomorrow when I shall be busy preparing a big family roast for us 6 plus Mum and Dad, good times all round I say.
Heres hoping you’ve had a good week filled with chocolate-if not yours then at least helping the kids out with theirs!!!
